Hot pop singer Adele announced she was canceling the rest of her US tour last month, citing vocal chord problems but the issue with her voice was no news to TheBPlot readers.
Tens of thousands of visitors – some from as far away as Australia and the UK – checked out TheBPlot.com in October to read the Debbie Gibson interview you read in July, where Gibson spoke exclusively about her concerns for Adele’s voice:
TBP (July 21, 2011): What advice do you have for singers like Adele and your friend Katy Perry on having a strong career like you?
Debbie: They are both fab! …Adele goes on pure rawness and instinct. That can catch up to you and eventually you have to have some traditional technique mixed in there for the long haul… I just have many friends who have that same amazing raw gift and eventually they find that to sustain, they need other training. Maybe Adele has had that training but she talks as if she just gets out there and does it.
A solid performer for decades, it has been proven again that Gibson knows what she’s talking about.
