GREAT, SIMPLE COOKBOOK: MEET THE AUTHOR AT WEGMAN’S SATURDAY

Meet the author of brilliant cookbook “Scoop It, Chop It, Cook It” – one of the Top Five selling books at Wegman’s Ocean Township – this Saturday, August 4, from 11 am to 1 pm.

How many cookbooks do we all have taking up valuable space that offer us just one or two great recipes?  This is the best, most creative and usable cookbook I have seen in years (the last book was Martha Stewart’s “Dinner at Home“).  Read it, use it, love it!

The author Tara Brennen will be on-hand at Wegman’s to talk all things “Med Bar,” as she calls it.  Tara, we want another serving… of your ideas!

“Scoop It, Chop It, Cook It” is one of the top five selling books at Wegman’s. The author makes an appearance this Saturday at the Wegman’s in Ocean Township.

“After 20 years of working in the food industry I know the secrets to accessing delicious, naturally prepared olives and antipasti from around the world every day,” Brennan explains.  “My recipes take advantage of the fact that most items you find at the MedBar are presented in a bath of brine or light vinaigrette.  By combining these ingredients, you have a perfect marinade for cooking.”

Praise for “Scoop It, Chop It, Cook It” (Feast Book Publishers):

“A chef’s mise en place – ready for you to compose fast, healthy, and elegant meals, gracefully.” -Chef David Bouley

“I’ve been preparing recipes like this since the ’50s. It’s terrific to see Tara bring these ideas to mainstream supermarkets.” -Saul Zabar

Next week in The Coaster, Brennan reveals the best beach lunch from the Med Bar as well as what  her favorite item to cook with from the bar is.  She also answers your Facebook questions.

Thanks Rich. Sounds like a great book. And yes I have too many books that offer too little in the way of really special recipes.
