Comic Maggie Cassella at the Stone Pony (time TBA).  Maggie’s comedy is a mix of rants and raves from the start. Obsessed with the fact that she could get an unlimited supply of material from just reading the paper, Maggie settled in on her Because I Said So™ format – performed for 20 summers in Provincetown – of sit down comedy tearing through news topics from law, to entertainment, to technology, to religion, and finishing up with the things that just made her mental. Now she arrives in Asbury Park produced by Jill Potter’s Aww Mama Productions.

Friday, July 16

The famous Lost at Sea oceanside kick-off party (7 pm to 11 pm) in the Grand Arcade on the boardwalk.  Join your friends and two thousand guests in Asbury Park’s Convention Hall for Road Trip’s most popular event and the Kickoff Party for the entire Festival. 

Shipwrecked (11 to 2 am) in the Beach Bar, featuing New York import DJ Max Rodriguez.  Pounding music, crashing waves, and a crush of bodies all kicking the night off.  

Saturday, July 16

Yoga on the beach again followed by gay dodgeball at 10am. Ironball Games & Events brings classic dodgeball to the sand at Asbury Park’s Fourth Avenue Beach with the second annual Gay Beach Dodgeball Tournament to Unite and Benefit the LGBT Community.

Sand Blast dance party (noon to 6pm) at the Fifth Avenue beach featuring DJ Randy Bettis from New York.  The event nominated for for Best New Ciruit Event in 2008 and Beach Party of the Year in 2009 by JustCircuit Magazine. Producer and DJ Randy Bettis provides the music for the return of Sand Blast, the spectacular gay beach dance.

NEW:  “The Who’s Tommy” by professional theater company ReVision will be performed on Saturday night at The Carousel Theater on the Boardwalk.  Discount tickets available for Road Trip Weekend guests. 

NEW:  Blackout @ The Berkeley (11 pm to 3 am) produced by Alan Picus and Thousands of glow toys will light up the dance floor.  Legendary pop DJ Steve Sidewalk will rock the dance floor with pop classics.

NEW:  Attention ladies!!! CRUSH party (11 pm to 3 am) – hundreds of women come together to party and play at this fast-growing event produced by Jill Potter’s AwwMama Productions.  All advance sales receive free CRUSH party soundtrack. Location TBA. 

Sunday, July 18

NEW:  Rip Tide Pool Party (11 am to 5 pm) at the Berkeley Pool sponsored by 42Below Vodka.  DJ Vito Fun kicks off the debut of the Road Trip Pool Party with the perfect mix for a hot summer’s day, followed by DJ Corey Craig who headlined Sand Blast last summer.
