“GOOD LUCK” TRADITION AT THE ALLENHURST BEACH CLUB

Every Sunday of Labor Day weekend, the Allenhurst Beach Club wishes it’s members “good luck ’till next year” in a unique and beautiful way.  At 3 pm, a bagpiper, in full traditional costume begins by walking around the beautiful saltwater pool.

When he finishes his one-man parade at the northernmost end of the beach, a crowd forms and the lifeguards paddle out about 150 feet into the ocean and drop bright green powder into the waves.

As the wonderful tradition goes, if you dunk your body in the green water, your good luck will continue through the cold days of winter into the new summer next year.
