SALON “GOES PINK” TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR BREAST CANCER MONTH

Gloss Salon is planning a month of events to help educate its customers about the importance of breast cancer screenings as well as raise mission-critical funds for the fight against the disease.

“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month around the country and we wanted to do what we could to help on a local level,” said John Partusch, owner, Gloss Salon located on Lake Avenue in Asbury Park.  “In speaking with the team here, we decided that Gloss should ‘go pink’ for a cure, for the nearly 7,000 New Jersey women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.” (more below…)

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Every service purchased at the salon that involves the color pink, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation during the month of October.

“Pink manicures, pink shellac or gel nails, pink hair extensions, pink feather hair extensions, even pink hair color and much more – every service will help raise money for the foundation,” said Partusch.  “Also, every customer who makes a donation will be entered in the raffle to buzz cut one of our stylists, Lynda Schweizer’s, hair.  Anyone who knows her knows what a big deal this is going to be.”

Last year, Gloss Salon in total raised more than $2000 in October.
