OCEAN TWP. FIREWORKS AT PALAIA PARK RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY (JULY 5)

Due to anticipated heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Arthur, the Ocean Township Fourth of July celebration at Joe Palaia Park has been rescheduled to Saturday (July 5).

Gates to the park and festivities will open at 6 pm.  All are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and chairs for the four-hour long Fourth of July celebration.  Dogs are not permitted.

As of publication time, Asbury Park’s beach fireworks remain scheduled for Friday (July 4) at approximately 9 pm.

Ocean Township police are encouraging residents to check Twitter and Nixle communications for updates regarding Tropical Storm Arthur’s potential local impact.

“From Thursday evening to Friday morning a weather advisory has been issued for our area,” said Lieutenant Timothy Torchia, social media officer.  “I will continue to post updates about rainfall amounts and the potential for flooding, as I receive them.”
