WALK FOR EQUALITY & IN SUPPORT OF ORLANDO ON SATURDAY
Walk for equality on Saturday at Kennedy Park in Asbury Park. Registration begins at 10 am. The walk is organized by Garden State Equality.
A peaceful walk in support of the victims of the Orlando mass shooting and GLBT equality everywhere has been planned for Saturday (June 18) in downtown Asbury Park. All are invited to participate, express their emotions and collectively share in the positive energy of strangers and friends.
“In light of the recent attack on our country and GLBT community, we felt it was important for us all to come together and share love and support with one another,” said Christian Fuscarino, executive director of Garden State Equality and organizer of the event. “We welcome people from all backgrounds to come and walk in honor of the victims of the Orlando tragedy. We rise and we walk to show strength in numbers for our brothers and sisters struggling right now.”
The walk will start at Kennedy Park
between Cookman Avenue and Lake Avenue and is planned to proceed east towards the boardwalk and back. Registration starts at 10 am and the walk will begin at 11 am after a moment of silence. Those interested are encouraged to simply show up on Saturday or visit GardenStateEquality.org/walk
